MR Research Associate – Vascular Imaging
Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI) is part of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre – one of the largest hospitals in Canada and a fully affiliated teaching hospital with the University of Toronto. We are seeking an experienced MR Physicist well-versed in MRI pulse sequences.
The successful applicant will work on designing imaging protocols and developing novel MRI acquisition and reconstruction techniques for use in vascular imaging. This work is part of a larger project to develop novel imaging and visualization techniques for planning vascular surgeries and image guided therapy.
The ideal candidate will be self-directed, creative and a fast learner, with demonstrated experience developing imaging or spectroscopic sequences for MRI preferably on the Siemens platform.
Responsibilities
The position will involve prototyping and development of novel MRI pulse sequences for vascular imaging on Siemens scanners.
You will be working with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers including scientists, vascular surgeons, MRI physicists, hardware engineers and software developers. You will:
Collaborate closely with clinicians and scientists for designing novel MRI sequences, experimental design and data analysis
Test and validate sequences using quantitative and qualitative metrics
Manage your work independently and present it professionally
Required Qualifications
Experience in MR pulse sequence programming, ideally in both the GE EPIC platform and in the Siemens IDEA platform
D (ideally, in medical physics, electrical or biomedical engineering) or equivalent experience in a related field
Assets
A track record of journal/conference publications would be advantageous
Excellent interpersonal skills to work in a multi-disciplinary group

This position is located at the main Sunnybrook Bayview campus, which is accessible by TTC (Bayview #11 & Sunnybrook #124 buses). Free employee shuttle between the downtown and Bayview campuses. Discounted TTC metropasses are also available.
