For more information please go to www.smartnitrogen.com.Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Ag Specialties West, the Marketing Representative will create demand and enhance brand awareness of Nutrien’s enhanced efficiency fertilizer (ESN) within the specialty product line through product promotion, customer contact, grower meetings and calls, demonstrations and trials. The Marketing Rep will need to demonstrate the value of Nutrien’s specialty product line versus conventional market products. The Marketing Rep will proactively collaborate with the Nutrien sales team to support company sales growth of Ag Specialty products and services, primarily ESN, within the defined territory of Alberta and British Columbia. This role will require extensive travel through these provinces.Specific responsibilities and competencies will include:Coordinate and present at retail and grower meetings, make farm calls, and conduct on farm product trialsEstablish and maintain relationships with existing customers, Growers, Retailers, Crop Consultants, and Colleges/UniversitiesDevelop new prospects and interact with customers to increase sales of products in order to meet and exceed sales goalsDevelop and maintain a thorough knowledge of product features, benefits and use as well as maintain continuing education on marketing techniques, products and services.Represent Agrium Wholesale at local and regional meetings and trade showsQualifications of the position include:Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Business or related field, combined with 5 to 7 years’ experience in commercial agricultural role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge and experience in AgronomyKnowledge of the crops/soil/precipitation in the target territoryKnowledge of field operations and application methodsHighly developed customer service skills with a proven ability to develop strong client relationships.Motivated self-starter with results and solution orientation and the ability to sustain a professional growth strategy while working independently.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Personal Characteristics:Strong drive for achievement and strong influencing skills among multiple stakeholdersCapable of leading complex initiatives through consensus and influenceStrong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working with multiple functions and management/personnel levels in a multi-tasking, deadline oriented, team environmentSolution-oriented with demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, peers and team membersStrong financial analysis skillsPossesses ability to juggle and prioritize numerous requests simultaneouslyPassion for finding new and innovative trends in relevant industriesAbility to travel extensively and work autonomouslyNutrien is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
