Reporting to the Senior manager, Supply and Demand planning, the Manager, Green Coffee is responsible for managing the green coffee purchasing function with the objectives of improving quality, cost, and delivery performance. This includes purchasing, planning, quality and inventory control, documentation and logistics. The incumbent will also be responsible for Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the supply chain process, and leveraging best practices. Responsabilities Responsible for sourcing, tracking, buying and insuring quality of green coffee raw material to meet production demands for our Montreal plant; Purchase raw materials and services in a timely manner to support the manufacturing of finished foods and the new product development; Coordinate with vendors to obtain information concerning product, negotiate price and terms when applicable, delivery capacity, and schedule/dates; Managing purchase orders of green coffee and supply chain flow from origin to plant; Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, and other departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner; Actively involved in inventory forecasting exercise: work closely with the plant management team and planning team to coordinate short term and longterm plant production needs; Closely monitor inventory levels and provide insights on key deviations if any; Oversee quality control of incoming green coffee; Complete vendor or product analysis when sourcing new products or looking for alternatives; Partner with R&D team on product development initiatives that require support. This may include sourcing new raw materials, collecting samples, and product information; Plan and maintain food safety, Organic (and related) Certification audits and plant inspection; Manage and develop a team of 2 employees. Qualification Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Business, Food Science or any related field; Minimum of 10 years experience in procurement/purchasing within a food manufacturing environment is desired; Minimum of 3 years of coffee roasting experience required, preferably in a high growth brand. Competencies Ability to foster excellent relationships, trust, and credibility quickly at all levels within the organization and externally with vendors Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to work under pressure and independently Must have technical aptitude and willingness to learn and try new techniques Excellent problem solving, analytical, organizational and teamwork skills Highly proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ERP system usage.
