The Data & Analytics Manager, ORM is accountable to establish and produce (write, edit, review, validate) operational risk reporting and analysis in support of BMOFG’s Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF). Reporting to the Senior Manager ORM, Canadian P&C, the role provides reporting support to the Canadian P&C Operational Risk Management (ORM) team. Operational Risk reports produced by this role are delivered to senior and executive Business individuals and senior and executive ORM management individuals, and are subject to regular review by BMOFG’s auditors and regulators. The production of quality risk reporting and analysis supports proactive management and mitigation of operational risk and increases transparency to existing, emerging and potential operational risks in Canadian P&C. The incumbent provides subject matter expertise and independent oversight for Canadian P&C reporting. In addition, this role contributes to the development of, and leads the execution of, operational risk reporting strategy and change management activities required to establish, implement and maintain an operational risk management information and reporting framework for Canadian P&C ORM that: Enable an end-to-end view of operational risk. Ensure, where appropriate, process efficiencies are identified and gained. Enforce standardization and consistency. Define the appropriate toolset to support operational risk reporting. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Lead the development of operational risk reports and promote sound practices for operational risk reporting and analysis. Leading the development of operational risk reporting for Canadian P&C that strengthens and promotes identifying, assessing, documenting, and reporting operational risk. Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Canadian P&C ORM and lead the creation of regular integrated and operational risk reports. Develop and implement processes that will deliver operational risk reporting that is effective, efficient and produced in a timely manner for Canadian P&C ORM. Establish and manage the risk reporting and analytics processes that will strengthen and promote identification, assessment, documentation and reporting of operational risks for Canadian P&C ORM. Develop operational risk reports working collaboratively with Canadian P&C ORM team and by leveraging operational risk systems, operating group data, and sources across the bank. Create a comprehensive view of operational risks for Canadian P&C. Develop procedural guidelines, tools and templates for enterprise operational risk reporting and analytics to ensure consistent and reliable reports. Provide input into enterprise operational risk system (IT) architecture and requirements with due consideration of scope, quality and user value of data. Drive consistency, quality and continuous improvement in the execution of the risk reporting framework for Canadian P&C. Identify opportunities to ensure operational risk reporting is efficient and effective so that synergies and capabilities are leveraged. Define and drive continuous improvement throughout the operational risk community through engagement with other ORM stakeholders Disseminate and enable ability to leverage enterprise best practices. Provide guidance, oversight and challenge to the applicable Canadian P&C Operational Risk Managers, CSAs, and lines of business. Lead/contribute to the integration of the operational risk reporting framework components into risk reporting methodologies and processes. Lead / contribute to the development of methodologies, performance metrics, systems and processes to consolidate, interpret and report on operational risk for a designated portfolio. Perform standard and ad hoc analyses and produce regular reporting for a variety of stakeholders including ORM Risk Managers, senior ORM management individuals, ERPM, and regulators. Lead the timely monitoring and reporting of the overall operational risk profile for Canadian P&C, identifying potential exposures & trends. Benchmark risk levels against industry. Produce top-line, emerging risk and significant event reporting for Canadian P&C ORM. Contribute to and embed into reporting the key risk indicators from the KRI program. Include issues and events that impact the risk profile into the operational risk reporting. Ensure the research into, and incorporation of, industry best practices in operational risk reporting. Assist Canadian P&C ORM in delivering against heightened regulatory expectations. Develop / coordinate materials (e.g., regulatory presentations) in response to regulatory requests.
