Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the licensed electrician is responsible to ensure all electrical equipment and systems are operated and maintained in a safe and effective manner. The employee uses considerable independent judgment in making decisions and is able to perform advanced trouble shooting on equipment. Repair and maintain mine equipment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations. Ability to troubleshoot all mobile and fixed equipment on siteElectrical and mechanical installations of sub-stationsRead, understand and interpret printsWork with soft start and variable speed drivesInstall, set up and maintain underground and surface substations and pump stationsInspects equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctionsAdjust equipment & repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work.Identifies additional repairs, compiles parts and labor estimates and communicates to supervisor.Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performanceCompletes accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, parts listings and submits drawing revisions.Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives.Must be an Ontario Licensed Electrician3-4 years’ experience in similar functions.Basic knowledge in mechanic and electricity Good physical abilities, Strong communication skillsAble to work independently and as part of a teamAvailable to work fluctuating schedules
