The Day & Ross Transportation Group is currently seeking a full-time Legal Counsel for our in Hartland, NB.

Provides legal advice and services that proactively support Day & Ross Inc.’s and McCain Foods Limited’s business strategy and operations.
Please note: This position is tentatively scheduled for Monday to Friday, daytime hours with periodic overtime or variance in hours. Travel throughout Canada and the United States may be required.
To be successful in this role, you will exceptionally complete the following (not an exhaustive list of responsibilities):
Research and provide legal advice and opinion in all areas of business law, particularly litigation, employment, contractual, corporate taxes, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structure issues, government reporting and general corporate commercial law.
Stay on top of legal developments, recognizing how and when they could affect business and proactively bringing such matters to the attention of appropriate senior officials.
Research, prepare, and edit required legal documentation to support business transactions.
Engage and manage external counsel to support larger, more complex files or as required.
Other related duties as required.

Superior organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Conceptual and creative problem-solving skills for a business environment.
French language skills are considered an asset
May provide guidance, leadership and mentoring to a junior or articling student.
The working environment can include long periods of sitting at a desk working with a computer and on the phone and handling documentation.
