Candidates are invited to apply for the above positions to work at Villa Colombo Services for Seniors, a 391-bed long-term care facility, located in Toronto, Ontario. The incumbent will report to the Manager, Housekeeping & Laundry RESPONSIBILITIES Sorts, washes, dries, irons, folds, stores all laundry according to the MOHLTC Standard, Public Health Sanitation Code and departmental procedures. Collects soiled laundry Sorts laundry in the soiled laundry chutes and brings covered soiled laundry bins into the soiled laundry area for washing. Delivers laundry on floors as required. Labels personal clothes and stamps linen. Takes linen inventory and notifies Department Head of shortage. Responsible for the clean condition of equipment in the laundry room. Keeps all equipment, surfaces and floors clean, free of dust and debris. Cleans on a regular basis. Removes lint from the dryers twice per shift, and from the drain behind the washing machine once per shift. Performs other related functions as directed by immediate supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS At least one year experience in a commercial or institutional laundry required. Completion of Secondary School education preferred. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Italian speaking is an asset Able to handle and lift heavy loads Must be able to work shifts, weekends and holidays. Excellent organizational, observational, interpersonal and communication skills. Strong documentation skills.
