L&D Designer/Developer – Job Description

  • The main function of the L&D Instructional Designer is to consult, scope, recommend, design and develop high quality, fully accessible, multi-approach blended learning and performance solutions supporting a complex, agile, transformational learning project

  • Supports comprehensive learning needs analyses for complex, transformational projects to enable the most innovative design and delivery of detailed learning recommendations, ensuring learning and performance objectives are met

  • Leverages best in class common practices, processes and measures across the design/development function

  • Provides deep subject matter expertise in learning and performance consulting, including knowledge of external best practices and emerging trends; maintains best practices in instructional design; stays current in design, development, program evaluation and measurement

  • Supports a highly complex learning project to deliver timely, high quality, consistent, creative, leading edge learning solutions that positively impact business and metrics

  • Ensures learning solutions align to bank's brand, learner accessibility and principles of diversity and inclusion, leveraging established standards and guidelines and achieve success criteria while managing scope, risks and stakeholder engagement, and problem resolution

  • Ability to synthesize, simplify and communicate complex information and theoretical concepts while applying clear language principles

  • Provides design thought leadership and/or industry knowledge and participates in knowledge transfer within the team

  • Adept at interacting with diverse groups of internal partners at all levels

L&D Designer/Developer – Mandatory Skills

  • 5+ years' experience as an Instructional Designer/Developer

  • Educational background in Instructional Design

  • Advanced design skills in creating high quality, fully accessible learning deliverables in all modalities (i.e., instructor led - classroom & virtual materials; eLearning storyboard; self-led learning)

  • Advanced MS Office (PowerPoint & Word) and experience designing virtual materials for delivery in Adobe Connect

L&D Designer/Developer - Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience working in an agile environment

  • Instructional Design experience supporting the financial industry on highly complex, transformational projects

  • Adult Learning Certificate

  • Product scrum owner
