As one of the largest providers of mining, heavy construction, industrial and tailings & environmental services in Western Canada, we have the precise combination of knowledge and experience that clients seek when they select a service provider.The successful candidatewill be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.Location – Acheson shop.Day and Night Shift8days on, 4 days off, 4 night shifts, 5 days off10 hour daysStarting Rate: $41.21/hrPreventative Maintenance and servicing of all equipmentCheck equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctionsTrouble shooting systems– example hydraulic, electrical & mechanical of all equipment and determine faults and extent of repairMajor overhauls on equipment as requiredTest repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specificationsComponent rebuildsMobilization of equipment for different applicationsDevelop work scopes and schedules for equipment to be repairedOrder parts for the servicing, and rebuild of equipment as requiredAssist Foreman in day to day operationsFill in when foreman is away if designated leadComplete reports and fill out work orders when requiredTeach and evaluate apprentices and HD MechanicsFollow NACG codes of practice and safety proceduresDemonstrate leadership skills in daily work interactionJourneyman Heavy Equipment TechnicianStrong verbal and written communications skillsA creative approach to problem solving; adaptability and flexibilityHave a concern for safety and awareness of safe working proceduresAbility to work alone or as a member of a team with other tradespersonsDemonstrated commitment to safety5 years on the job experience to complement Apprenticeship training programCompletion of secondary schoolCompletion of Heavy Duty Equipment Technician apprenticeshipFirst AidHeavy Construction and or Mining equipment experience requiredRewards of our positions include competitive compensation and benefits packages and excellent career growth prospects.
