More information can be found atwww.lafarge.ca/en/careers.The Job Cost Accountant is responsible for recurring financial statement reporting, market and customer research, analysis, and interpretation. In addition, the role requires assisting the operations by providing business support in a timely manner. The Job Cost Accountant participates in the monthly review of financial statements and will share in the accountability of budgeting, forecasting and inventory management. Promotes an organized and efficient production environment that drives a safe work culture in the Greater Edmonton Area.Demonstrates a commitment to a safe work environment. Understands the safety objectives of the organizations and supports these efforts in a visible manner.Ensures the accuracy of the product Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP by working with sales/operations.Ensures inventory levels and usages are accurate and up to date. Ensures systems are in place to effectively and accurately monitor key inventory level s. Analyzes results to identify opportunities and concerns to GM / FM so issues are addressed in a timely manner.Ensures billing is happening on a regular basis. Follows up with the Sales department when billing is behind and work on solution with sales to rectify the issue.Assists in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts for volumes, selling prices costs and EBITDA.Assists operations managers and their teams with developing and maintaining internal management reports.Assist with development of Business Unit business strategies.Audit sales systems for data integrity.Any ad hoc requests Dimensions:Reports directly to the General Manager, Pipe & Precast in Edmonton.Frequent interface with General Manager, Operations Managers, Sales Manager and the Financial Team (FM/FD)Education & Work Experience:An undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business or Finance.CPA (CMA, CA, or CGA) designation required or in progress strongly preferred.3-5 years of experience preferred.Knowledge & Skills:Excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong time management ability and ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong self-initiative.Understanding and knowledge of financial statements.Good interpersonal skillsStrong computer skills including SAP and MS OfficeCan multi-task and work well under pressure.
