Reporting to the AVP, Corporate Technology (HR), the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our HR organization and work with clients and IT professionals to leverage technology to enable new programs and provide continuous operational improvements. What you”ll do:The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading Information Technology (IT) projects including; Application Delivery, Infrastructure, Technology Integration; from original concept through to final implementation. The Project Manager works closely and effectively with project team members, IT and business leaders, and external parties to ensure that projects are correctly chartered, planned, and executed. The Project Manager is accountable for meeting the expectations of the IT leaders and project sponsor and in delivering in the management of project scope, budget, and time.Responsible for the overall planning, project management, execution and control of specific projects for IS Corporate Technology initiatives, using approved project management methodology and toolsIn partnership with the program sponsor, facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, deliverables and governance with key project stakeholders and resourcesDevelop full scale project plans and define project tasks and resource requirementsManage the tracking and control of program and project plan including risk and issue management, decision management and change managementProvide regular and timely communication on program and project status to the project teams, sponsors and stakeholders and lead status meetingsDetermine risk and interdependencies of the program and project plans; develop options, recommendations and plans to address issues, coordinating any necessary decision makingManage stakeholder relations in partnership with project sponsorProvide support to the Senior Project Manager on large projectsManage work packages and coordinates activities as assigned by the Senior Project Manager on large projectsLiaise with external vendors and consultants as requiredWho you are:Degree in related discipline (Computer Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, etc) or equivalent combination of training and experienceMinimum of 3 years experienceleading project management/program management for large and/or complex projects, preference given to candidates with experience leading HR projectsExperience with SuccessFactors or SAP HCM a strong assetAPM, CSM, PMP is an assetAbility to analyze and evaluate information and render effective decisionsStrong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.Experience making decisions based on policies, practices and project requirementsAbility to adapt to a complex, multi-site, matrix organization and adopt organizational methodologies and processes for effective project deliveryStrong facilitation skills (excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to drive consensus and action plans)Excellent problem-solving skillsincluding an ability to adapt quickly to changes and adjust priorities accordinglyUnderstanding of IT Delivery Methodologies and experience with project management tools (e.g. MS Project)Discover your opportunity….Apply today!Great-West Life offers competitive compensation, great benefits such as medical, dental, life insurance, wellness account and personal days not to mention onsite cafeteria and fitness facilities.
