Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Project Coordinator (“HRPC”) will provide support to the company’s corporate human resources projects.
The HRPC will provide support to the Human Resources team, and Corporate Project team (as directed) in the delivery of all/any project services, programs, and initiatives.
Include but not limited to;
– Provides assistance with interpreting language in contracts and collective agreements
– Assists and/or supports HR Advisors in maintaining compliance with internal human resources practices, as well as legislation as it relates to the human resources function (including the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Code, and Workers Compensation Act)
– Assists with preparing alternatives to resolve disputes and grievances including developing and compiling documentation, reviewing employee personnel files and making recommendations
– Assists with conducting research to support collective agreement and grievances
– Assists with Project Planning
– Assists with defining project requirements, scope and objectives
– Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
– Ensures client needs are met as projects evolve
– Assists with supporting collective bargaining process; including conducting market research data, costing proposals, and maintaining bargaining files and notes
– Performs various administrative functions such as correspondence, receiving, screening, and directing general inquiries and issues to the appropriate person within the department. To include:
o Drafting letters using existing templates and/or creating templates
o Reviewing/editing general correspondence, as required
o Responding to enquiries for information from external sources (i.e. legal representatives)
– Other HR related duties (as required)
– Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
– Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
– Undertaking project tasks as required and provide administrative support as needed.
1. 1-3 year Human Resources work experience
2. 1-3 years Project Coordinator experience
3. HR-related Diploma or Degree preferred
4. Experience working with collective agreements and in a unionized environment, an asset.
5. Familiarity with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
6. Proven ability to demonstrate initiative and problem solving skills
7. Ability to travel to sites, as required.
8. PMP an asset

3. Highly organized
4. Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft office’s Outlook, Excel, Word)
5. Ability to work independently and/or with minimum supervision
