Reporting to the Housekeeping/Laundry Manager, the Housekeeping aide maintains high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the home by cleaning and sanitizing rooms and furnishings in assigned work areas following established policies and procedures. The laundry aide works to provide ample, fresh, clean linen and personal clothing to the residents. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience required; long term care experiences an asset. Ability to work in a team and independently Ability and willingness to follow instruction Ability to read, write and understand English Knowledge of housekeeping & laundry procedures Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices an asset Candidates MUST be reasonably available and flexible to work all shifts, including weekends, days, evenings, nights and statutory holidays on pre-booked and call in basis RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, crouch, squat for long periods of time, and lift (30 lbs.) Able to push/ pull with 80 lbs of force ( Laundry Carts ) Proven excellent customer service skills Able to demonstrate safety consciousness by maintaining a clean and safe work environment Operations of housekeeping and laundry machinery Understand and adhere to policy and procedure; attend education sessions Candidates will be required to provide a Vulnerable Persons Sector Police Check (acceptable if within 6 months).
