As part of a planned retirement, the City is now looking for a new leader of its Public Works division. Reporting to the general manager of Engineering & Public Works, this Director-level role is responsible for leading and managing the city’s entire Public Works Division of over 200 staff. The portfolio includes the complete suite of operational and capital programs to support the City’s infrastructure needs for residents, visitors, businesses and other City Departments. The ideal candidate brings over 10 years of progressive experience as a leader in an engineering construction / management role in government, or other complex public sector or private sector environment that supports public works and utility / urban infrastructure needs. An inspirational and visionary team leader with a high level of social intelligence, the preferred candidate has the ability to win the hearts and minds of a multidisciplinary team. This is a highly influential role that impacts the entire Capital Regional District.
