To connect with us, visit www.metroland.com.THE OPPORTUNITYThe District Manager is responsible for ensuring that The Hamilton Spectator and other associated publication products in their assigned geographic area are delivered in a timely and appropriate manner, and that the delivery contractors are trained and provided with the necessary tools to complete their job efficiently.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESOn a daily basis ensure that all newspapers, inserts, and other products are delivered in a timely manner. This includes working closely with the independent delivery carrier force as well as depot and service contractors.Recruit new carriers to ensure that all routes are covered and terminate contracts where appropriate. Maintain sufficient carrier waiting lists or establish new ones.Overseeing of all daily home deliveries in assigned district.Address customer concerns in a professional and timely manner while ensuring the concerns are resolved and the carriers are aware of the concerns.Design and manage carrier promotions to motivate the carrier force.Design carrier routes and develop mapping of new areas.Fieldwork, sales and managing high-level service issues.Ensure monthly sales and service goals are met.As part of this role, you will be required to handle credit card information. Metroland Media is PCI compliant company, and requires people in this roleto take PCI training to handle cards in a safe and compliant manner.WHAT WE”RE LOOKING FORCompletion of Secondary Education or equivalent.Superior customerservice.Ability to developeffective relationships within the team.Solid organizational and time management skills.Detail oriented andgood sense of prioritizing of varied tasks.Highly flexible andadaptable; able to react quickly and effectively to urgent requests andchanging priorities.Sound computer skills and fluent of Microsoft applications.Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills.Ability to workwithin a fast-paced, team oriented environment and independently.Responsible, self-motivated and able to function with minimal supervision.Physical activity –walking, lifting up to 50Ibs.Reliable vehicle andvalid driver’s license required.Direct sales experience would be an asset.Ability to work shifts: we are a 7 day a week operation, 2 different weekly shifts, currently 3 am to 11 am and 5 am to 1 pm.
