Responsibilities/Duties: This position requires a scope of practice that includes inpatient, outpatient, acute, long term care, Emergency Room shifts and on-call. Enhanced Surgical skills and privileges are required.Establish and maintain a full time Family Medicine practice in the community of Pincher Creek; A full time practice is defined as providing clinical activities at least five (5) day per week, a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Obtain and maintain AHS Medical Staff Appointment and hospital privileges which will include provision of inpatient admission services for their patient panel, including maintenance of a call roster at the Pincher Creek Health Centre. Will have a patient panel of a minimum of 1000 patients within six (6) months. Reside in and have as primary residence, the community of Pincher Creek. Provide on-call support as per AHS’s on-call schedules and expectations applicable to the South Zone Clinical Department of Rural Medicine or as may otherwise be established or directed by an appropriate Medical Leaders. Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the Rules and AHS policies. Will join and be an active member with the Primary Care Network. Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues as a member of the Zone Clinical Department of Rural Medicine at the Pincher Creek Health Centre in support of patient care. The rate is $23.84 an hour and is paid for a total of 14 hours on weekdays from 5 pm to 7am and 24 hours a day on weekends and statutory holidays. Frequency of on call shifts vary by community.Alberta Medical Association (AMA) Incentives: www.albertadoctors.orgA Flat Fee is paid to physicians who practice & reside in this community of $13350.26 per year provided his/her annual income for insured services is greater than $50,000. (Residency conditions apply, including living in the eligible community for nine of the previous twelve months ending on the payment date.) The Variable Fee Premium paid is an additional 12.40% for insured services provided in this community.Rural, Remote, Northern Program (RRNP) – Please note, payments through the RRNP are capped at $60,000 per physician per year.Retention Benefit – supports and promotes the retention of physicians in Alberta by rewarding their continuous years of service to Albertans. Physicians receive between $5,141 and $12,852 depending on their years of service to Albertans.Medical Liability Reimbursement – reimburses physicians for their medical liability protection costs less a $1,000 deductible.Continuing Medical Education – reimburses physicians for eligible continuing medical education costs. Each eligible physician receives a $2,656 annual allotment which can be carried forward for up to three years.Parental Leave Program via Alberta Medical Association – provides $1,063 per week for up to 17 weeks to physician parents of a newborn or newly adopted child.Business Cost Program – addresses escalating practice costs in community based practices. This fee modifier is added automatically to select office visits and consultations.
