Hotel Overview: Edmonton’s "Chateau on the River" This historic Chateau on the River features 198 spacious rooms and suites, combining traditional décor with a high level of personal service. Fairmont Gold was introduced in June 2016, an elevated experience of a hotel within a hotel; this product will further cement Fairmont Hotel Macdonald’s reputation as the best, most luxurious hotel in Edmonton. Restaurants include the Confederation Lounge and award-winning Harvest Room, both with spectacular river valley views and seasonal outdoor terraces. Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Operations , responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service Ensure team members are familiar with all areas of the Fitness Center and Spa operation; including product knowledge; retail sales; and service standards Direct and lead the day to day Fitness Center and Spa operation ensuring all standards are followed Assist in the recruitment, development and training of all leaders and support staff Balance operational. Administrative and colleague needs Create and organize guests members fitness programs and activities Manage all financial aspects of the Fitness Center including: sales revenues and membership dues Submit monthly report requirements, including business reports and treatment audits Prepare annual budgets for all departments within the Fitness Center and Spa; ensuring productivity and expense controls are followed to maximize revenue opportunities Maintain thorough knowledge of competitors; including location, product offering, pricing, promotion and sales techniques Responsible for equipment servicing, cleanliness of the facilitates, and general Fitness Center maintenance Develop and manage all fitness programs and be a champion of Health & Wellness for members and colleagues Oversee Massage operations Coordinate and implement marketing campaigns with Director of Sales and Marketing to support membership growth for both local clientele and in-house guests Compile and distribute existing sales collateral to entice prospective members and hotel groups Generate monthly productivity reports and review expenditures to ensure they are in keeping within the departmental budgets Coordinate extensive prospect database directed at proposed target market Explore networking opportunities including attending trade shows, chamber of commerce meetings and other civic and social events Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings, as well as quarterly, mid-year and yearly performance reviews.
