Our experienced and knowledgeable employees provide our customers with effective custom-tailored solutions, supported by prompt, expert service.​Corix Water Services Inc. has an immediate career opportunity for a Fire Hydrant Technician positionbased in our Toronto office. This position is a 4-month contract.Routinely inspects, service and repair fire hydrants, watermain valves, post indicator valve and fire department connections in accordance with prescribed standards.Flushing and testing of fire hydrants and watermains.Gathers data, records and completes reports as required via the handheld device.Recommends necessary action, repairs and/or replacement of fire hydrants when found or reported defective to supervisor.Maintains assigned tools through prescribed care, use and maintenance techniquesPerforms necessary administrative duties such as, but not limited to, Keep paperwork, files and tools well organized.Other duties as assigned.High School diploma or equivalent education.Intermediate computer skills.Good organizational skills.Mechanical aptitude.Ability to understand and perform complex and varied skilled tasks.Ability to independently judge and take action in day to day activities.College certification or Diploma in Water Technology program is an asset.Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions with a minimum of supervision.Ability to establish and improve effective working relationships with staff, contractors and the public providing information, assistance, advice and direction as required.Valid driver’s license with clean driving abstract.Application Expiry Date: This position will remain open until filled.If you possess these skills and qualifications, we invite you to apply online in confidence at***Corix employees must apply via our internal portal***We thank all candidates for their interest; however, only those shortlisted will be contacted.No telephone calls or recruitment agencies will be accepted.Corix is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible candidate experience.
