Pursuit is executing on an aggressive growth strategy and seeks to bolster the talent and capability of its Finance team in Banff, Alberta, Canada by hiring a bright, seasoned and ambitious Finance Manager. The Finance Manager will lead all aspects of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) for the Banff Jasper Collection and as such, will be uniquely-positioned to become a key player in the execution of the company’s growth. The Finance Manager will oversee assembly of the geography’s annual operating plan, capital investment plan and monthly financial forecasts, working closely with the broader Finance and Accounting team based in Denver, Colorado and divisional leadership and operational teams in Banff and Jasper. He or she will participate in the monthly financial cycle, providing timely and accurate insights related to month-end close and post-close variance analysis. In addition to these cyclical duties, the Finance Manager will oversee and deliver on multiple concurrent ad hoc analyses as needed by the business and will take a leadership role in the creation and presentation of investment proposals for refresh, build and buy opportunities centered on driving company growth and/or operational improvement.Responsibilities;Become deeply ingrained in the operations of the Banff Jasper Collection and advise operations teams on matters pertaining financial management, operational and margin improvement and achievement of short and long-term planning objectivesServe as a trusted business advisor on issues ranging from operations enhancement to the financial integration of newly-acquired operationsLead a team of Financial Analysts, providing day-to-day direction while maintaining focus on coaching, promotion of the Pursuit culture, continuous improvement and talent developmentEnsure that divisional leadership, operations and shared services teams are provided with accurate and timely financial information to drive accountability and to facilitate rapid and effective decision-makingEnhance the existing financial and operational reporting capability by developing an integrated framework that uses metrics and KPIs that benchmark, measure and assess performance against financial targets and that serves as an early warning system on potential risks and improvement opportunitiesEstablish strong relationships and credibility with the President, Vice President of Operations and senior leadership team of the Banff Jasper CollectionMaintain relentless focus on timely, transparent and insightful communication with the VP of Finance, located in DenverThe ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:6+ years of progressive experience in Finance and/or FP&A, preferably including time in a publicly-traded, multi-geography resort, travel or recreation companyExcel at building relationships and working on teams across multiple levels of an organization, particularly with senior business leaders, line of business executives and other high-level professionalsDisplay an ability and affinity for leadership, managing teams and developing talentDemonstrate a knack for data, including governance, structure, presentation and ability to leverage technology as it applies to financial planning, accounting and ERP systemsUndergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business or economics; CFA certification and/or MBA degree preferredShow deep intellectual curiosity in learning about the business beyond “just the numbers”A hands-on, diplomatic and engaging style with superior execution skills that bring rigor and discipline to processes and an orientation to drilling down into details and asking questions until satisfiedArticulate communicator with an ability to be crisp and concise and deliver messages with confidence and authority in an atmosphere where candor and directness are the normAbility to process information quickly and make decisions with fact-based logic and sound reasoningMaintain composure under pressure and tight deadlines while being resilient, adaptable and flexible to changeThis position will be based out of our Support Servicesoffices in Banff, AlbertaPursuit is an equal opportunity employer.
