The position reports to the Manager, Property Claims – Auto Field
The Field Claim Specialist will investigate automobile claims and work with our customers to settle them.
For this position, you will be w
orking out of your home and travelling as required to the GTA and surrounding area.
The work week is
Monday to Friday.
Accountabilities include:
Estimate physical damage of vehicles using the Mitchell estimating system
Negotiate with collision repair shops and customers regarding the repair process of the vehicle
Work closely with the inside Auto adjusters
Determine whether the vehicle is a total loss based on the amount of repairs, salvage value & loss of use
Settle total losses with customers
Work independently to organize daily work routine
Provide customers with superior service in a professional manner
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum high school education or equivalent work experience
Technical Diploma or equivalent training in auto body repair
1-2 years insurance experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast pace environment
Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently
Experience in estimating vehicles using ADP or Mitchell would be an asset
Must be I-CAR Platinum or currently working on attaining this designation
Enrolled in or completion of CIP designation
Knowledge of the auto policy and auto repair procedures
