Job ID:15810Updated:June 20, 2018Location:Main CampusPosition OverviewThe  Olympic Oval  in theFaculty of Kinesiologyis currently seeking a Recurring Part-timeEvening Supervisor .This position reports to the Team Lead, Guest Relations, and is responsible for ensuring the safety, risk management and customer service needs of the Olympic Oval and all user groups when full time staff are not available. This position involves working in a busy high traffic area with frequent interruptions. The Evening Supervisor and must be able think and respond quickly, effectively and creatively in order to provide responsible customer service. Hours of work include daytime, evening and weekend.Position DescriptionSummary of Key Responsibilities(job functions include but are not limited to):Support and supervision of building and part-time employeesProvides direction and leadership including: initiatives to improve customer service, staff performance appraisals, staff training, and occasional scheduling of staffDevelops and maintains effective communication and dissemination of information between the Oval user groups and the management teamActs as a liaison for the management team, staff, visitors, the general publicActs as a `troubleshooter’ during evening and weekend hoursMonitors and deals with activities carried out in the building including: public skating, ticket sales, front office duties, ice patrol, weight room, access control, skate shop, events, and operations duties when necessaryQualifications / Requirements:Must have 3 – 5 years supervisory experienceAble to interact with a variety of customers, user groups, students, faculty and staff providing effective customer service skillsMust have proven conflict resolution skills as well as problem solving skillsAbility to handle stressful situations is essentialCurrent CPR and Lifesaver First Aid certificate is requiredSound knowledge of POS systems and cash management is requiredApplication Deadline: September 30, 2018.
