We are seeking an Estate Manager for our growing Insolvency team, in the Moncton/St.John office. Committed to helping all stakeholders through financial challenges, MNP Limited is one of the largest insolvency practices in Canada. For more than 50 years, our experienced team of Government-Licensed Insolvency Trustees and advisors have been working collaboratively with lenders and debtors at all levels to help protect their interests. Performance ExpectationsAssist in the delivery of consumer insolvency services such as addressing the key strategic, operational and financial trouble spots to rapidly diagnose any problem, identifying immediate stabilizing activities, providing operational and performance improvement advice, and addressing debt-structuring and refinancing, or recovery needsParticipate in formal and informal restructurings, which may involve taking possession of assets, operating insolvent entities and dealing with stakeholders through periods of crisisAdminister formal insolvency appointments including bankruptcies, proposals and receivershipsAnalyze data, review accounting records, and the develop financial models to help identify issues, define symptoms, and recommend solutionsDevelop relationships with special loan financiers, insolvency lawyers and client executivesPrepare Statement of Affairs documents, 170 Reports, Certificate of Discharge, Trustee’s Supplementary Report to Court, Pre and Post Bankruptcy Tax Returns and Final Statement of Receipts and DisbursementsAssist in e-filing relevant documents in a timely manner with the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB)Think strategically about client needs by understanding the risks; confer with Partners on large and high risk files regarding course of action and whether to accept engagementsIdentify ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added valueMaintain high quality control by reviewing work done from junior team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team membersMonitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project status and seek clarification on discrepancies where applicableDevelop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry Promote MNP insolvency and advisory services through the delivery of presentations, writing articles, facilitating workshops or participating in community activitiesContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes Assist in developing and coaching junior team membersPromote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellnessAttend internal MNP courses to further develop knowledge around performance improvement CredentialsPossess a Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in a relevant fieldCompletion of the Insolvency Administrator Course is preferredCompletion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an assetWillingness to pursue the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) designation and Licensed Insolvency Trustee license Three (3) to four (4) years of experience working in professional services, particularly corporate insolvency and complex restructuring engagementsWorking knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency ActStrong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointSome travel may be requiredCore Competencies and Personal CharacteristicsIntegrity – professional whose honesty, integrity, confidentiality and high ethical standards contributes to effective leadership and optimal business relationshipsEnergy – displays enthusiasm, optimism, drive and passion while maintaining a high level of productivity and a balanced lifestyleDiversity – understands the importance of different backgrounds, perspectives and experiences and is respectful of individual differencesCommunication – effectively expresses ideas and conveys information in business writing, conversations and interactions with othersClient Service Excellence – understands the importance of quality client service by being courteous, responding to client requests in a timely manner and monitoring satisfactionTeamwork & Relationship Development – works collaboratively with team members in order to achieve a common goal and develops, maintains and strengthens relationships with others, both inside and outside the FirmAccountability – takes responsibility for one’s own performance by setting clear goals and tracking progress against those goals; is highly organized and uses personal judgement and decision makingFlexibility – effectively manages multiple assignments, adapts to changing priorities and is able to work independently or as part of a teamMNP encourages a balanced lifestyle and offers benefits that suit the way our team members work and play!
