Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career and work on a unique and exciting environmental remediation project in the Port Hope, ON area. This position will provide support to our dynamic health & safety and environment team by conducting a wide range of environmental assessments and remediation assignments through field investigation, report writing and remedial activities. Key ResponsibilitiesSite-field work, conducting and monitoring field activitiesTechnical writing, assisting with report writing, project plan revisions, compliance audit documentationRecording key field dataMonitor air quality by conducting real time air quality monitoring using air monitoring equipmentOccasional physical work; including general labor, hand digging, moving pumps and hoses, heavy liftingCross functional training to perform other roles onsite, as needed; security kiosk, sediment and erosion control crew, spills response etc.Must have 2-5 years’ experience working in the environmental field as a Field TechnicianUniversity Degree or College Diploma in a relevant Environmental disciplineGeoscientist in Training (GIT) or Environmental Professional (EP or EPt) preferredAble to work 12+hour days outdoors in all weather conditionsMust be able to wear SCBA, full and half-face respiratorExperience with MultiRAE / GasTec devices a plusHAZWOPER training a plusSCBA training a plusTechnical writing experience a plusExperience working with environmental regulators a plusWood is a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets.
