Based in Calgary, Alberta, we aim to enhance shareholder returns by cost-effectively growing our significant asset base in the Viewfield Bakken, Shaunavon, Flat Lake, Uinta Basin and East Shale Duvernay plays.Crescent Point is currently seeking to fill the following position:Job Title:Operations Engineering Internship Student Positions Available:5Term:16 MonthsLocation:Field office, includes: Weyburn, Swift Current, Carlyle and Turner ValleyReports to:Operations Engineer The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.Purpose:The Operations Engineering Internship Student at Crescent Point will be responsible to provide support to the field-based operations engineering and operations staff in the following areas: wells, facilities, pipelines, environmental and other various areas. We are looking to fill multiple field based positions, you will be asked at the time of application to indicate if you have a preference in location. Main Responsibilities & Activities:Provide support on well optimizations – surface and downhole (economics, equipment loading evaluation)Analysis on pump efficiency to evaluate potential optimizationsEvaluation of shut-in wells to determine if economically viable to re-activate or be added to abandonment list (prioritization of abandonment list)Facility optimizations/upgrades – to allow for additional fluid to be tied in or simply to streamline processes in place (i.e. Salt Water Disposal or treating equipment upgrades, etc).Maintenance Capital projects – maintenance/operations project evaluation, proposal, follow-throughAssist with initial pipeline routing, survey kickoffs and accruals for SWB installations & equip/short tie-inEvaluation and preparation of tie-in projects (single and multiple wells) to new/existing facilitiesProvide support on flaring and venting (Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment and Resources S-10 regulation)Economics for gas tie-insEvaluate upgrades on flaring, gas gathering systemsEvaluation of other options for sweetening, conservation or use of flared gas (i.e. on-site power generation.)Government correspondenceAssist with AFEs (authorizations for expenditure) as well as cost and optimization trackingKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Working towards an Engineering Degree is required. must be returning to post-secondary institution following the internship work termMust be approved through university to participate in Internship program and complete a 16 month work termPrevious experience in the oil and gas industry would be an assetExcellent computer skills with in depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detail is essentialAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is requiredEnthusiastic individual with excellent organizational and time management skills Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals Only qualified candidates of interest will be contacted
