You will be a facility resource for production line improvements, realignment and product flow equipment and machinery. With access to the tools you need to succeed, you will make an impact along with other motivated & engaged employees.Key Accountabilities·Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems.·Supervise and inspect the installation, modification and commissioning of mechanical systems within the facility·Investigate mechanical failures any unexpected maintenance problems.·Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components and systems·Conduct time studies to optimize production cycle times of existing processes.·Planning and executing of projects related to new and pre-existing production lines, improvements, lay-outs and new equipment related to assembly.·Review of scale drawings to ensure the proposed design satisfies the customer requirements.Minimum Requirements·A degree or diploma in engineering completed or a three year program in electrical/technology equivalent.·Minimum requirement of one years’ experience in machining or manufacturing environment.·Five years’ experience in PLC and robotic repair/programming.·Solid understanding of electrical/electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.·Basic knowledge of computer networking, Ethernet connections, TCP/IP protocol.·Ability to decide appropriate materials, measuring tools, methods and standards of equipment to use for projects.·Advanced knowledge in PLC Programming.·Ability to write comprehensive entries into technical log books which are used as reference documents.Desired Characteristics·Good Communication skills and ability to coordinate projects between engineers, contractors, technicians and suppliers·Trade License in Industrial Electrical Maintenance (442A)·Completed courses by machine manufacturing·Experience with risk analysis and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).·Familiarity with TS16949 and applicable customer standardsWhy Linamar·Opportunities for career advancement·Assistance with approved professional designations and fees·Community based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities·Social committees and sports teams·Discounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discountsLinamar is committed to promoting accessible recruitment as outlined in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
