As the Embedded Technical Lead you are a technical reference & senior developer responsible for leading small agile team of developers to create, evolve and maintain innovative our devices, including
You and your team participate in the full stack development of linux-based products (mostly x86), from device drivers, to local content management, to communication with APIs and services, to audio pipeline, to operating system, to lighting devices and all the way up to touchscreen user interfaces.
You will:•Supervise, mentor and coach a team of 5+ developers
•Ownership of the development sprint and the quality of the deliverables
•Promote, implement & facilitate software development and organization best practices within the team such as coding standards, code review, unit/automated testing and continuous deployment/delivery pipelines
•Lead and/or actively participate in technology discussions to define the vision of features, software components, optimize usage of technology and prevent/reduce technical debt
•Foster open communications and build strong relationships with other teams and technology partners
•Design, build and evolve features, and have fun doing it!
•Develop prototypes and “proof of concepts” for new features/products
•Spend at least 30% of your time writing product and automation code
•Lead/support field investigations during mission critical outages
Must Have Skills:
•Degree in computer science or similar discipline, or equivalent experience
•8+ years of development experience
•3+ years of experience leading product development teams
•Strong understanding of computer architecture, data structures, software development principles and methodology, including Agile and software design patterns
•Strong C programming skills. Knowledge of GNOM/Glib is a great asset.
•Development experience with linux, kernel/drivers, multimedia pipelines (such as GStreamer), UI technologies (such as GTK, Clutter, QT), IPC (such as DBUS), relational databases (such as mySQL)
•Good social and communication skills
•Good knowledge of French and English
