ELECTRICAL DESIGNER Full Time, Employee or Contractor Vancouver, BC POSITION SUMMARY: Due to continued business growth, Tetra Tech ICE is looking to add an Electrical Designer to help support our engineering operations. This position joins an engineering team that provides comprehensive multi-discipline design and engineering service to assist our heavy industrial clients in maintaining and upgrading their facilities, capital and maintenance, for single and multidiscipline engineering design projects. This role joins an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation team of 50+ in our Vancouver office and is a part of our 250 team members in offices across Canada in BC, AB, SK, & ON. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Collecting field information, equipment specification, drawing development, material take-offs, cost estimate input, schedule input, code review, prepare reports, and commissioning 3D Electrical system design, motor schematics and wiring, logic diagrams, cable tray layouts, termination drawings and field verification Reviewing and evaluating technical work Coordinating activities with Technical Leads, Project Managers and other engineering disciplines Work closely and share knowledge within the company and with clients Occasional Travel within Canada may be required with travel time often concentrated in bunches. Responsible for adhering to all health and safety policies and guidelines. REQUIRED SKILLS: Knowledgeable in the Canadian Electrical Code Industrial electrical design experience Good interpersonal skills required for internal team interfaces Good written and oral communication skills SOFTWARE AND SYSTEMS Proficient in AutoCAD (3D) Cadworks and Autoplant Raceways 3D considered an asset Proficient in MS Office particularly in Word and Excel EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technologist or related design program Eligible for Applied Science Technologist (AscT) Think Tetra Tech Tetra Tech is one of Canada’s largest engineering firms and consists of a dynamic, multi-discipline team of specialists with a different approach to consulting engineering.
