The company has 72 billion dollars in assets under management, and as part of IGM (a subsidiary of the Power Financial Group of Companies), is the largest independent asset manager in Canada.Reporting to the VP Enterprise Architecture & Innovation, the Practice & Innovation lead will play a leadership role in ensuring the IGM Architecture and innovation practices are in alignment with best in class organizations, enabling business growth and sustained performance. The role will provide leadership for the IGM Technology architecture practice and innovation function. Key accountabilities include:supporting IGM’s innovation agenda through research into emerging technologies relevant to IGM strategies and maintenance of an innovation lab service developing enterprise architecture practices in alignment with modern delivery methodsenabling the governance of those designs and standards through leadership of a design authorityThe role will be responsible to:Provide direction, guidance and definition of IGM’s Enterprise Architecture practice; ensuring that it effectively aligns and supports business strategy. Manage the IGM Architecture practice through the establishment of templates, process, repositories and artifact standards.Manage IGM IS architecture models and their lower level components.Design, implement and maintain EA tools and methodologies.Coordinate across Application, Technology, Security, Data and other architecture teams in the collaborative creation of standards, target-state architecture templates and roadmaps for implementation.Share best practices, lessons learned and constantly update enterprise architecture methods, based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor tools and methods. Facilitate IGM Enterprise Architecture governing bodies and processes. Including: managing the Design Authority along with Business Architecture and managing exceptions to architectural standards at an enterprise level.Performs the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends; and ensures recommendations are based on business relevance, appropriate timing and deployment.Support IGM’s Innovation agenda through the driving Technology Innovation efforts, including: Identifying and recommending areas appropriate for study Leading and participating in any Proof of Concept or Prototyping Managing innovation Lab servicesCandidate ProfileThis role must also be able to have a deep understanding of a broad range of architecture practices including: Business – Describing behavior at the business layer including information flows, processes, roles and work practices that impact business objectives and capabilities. Data – Describing data structures used by business processes or systems. Application – Mapping applications and business capabilities to describe how systems interact within the organization. Information – Facilitating the modeling of data structures as they relate to business applications and capabilities.
