This position reports into the VP Product Strategy & Merchandise.To lead the innovation, development, and production of SPUD’s food program across all online and offline sales channels, with ownership over the commissary operations in both Vancouver, BC and Calgary, AB.Manage the recipe development calendar and pipeline, and oversee the entire menu, including seasonal menu changes.Lead the sourcing process for increasing local ingredients into the Be Fresh menu program, including working cross-functionally with the Category Managers on unique ingredients.Balance “willingness-to-pay” SRP and perceived value for customers, with a focus on driving profitability to the bottom line.Consider the ability to scale item production, and the ability to sell through online (home and office delivery) sales channels.Develop the flavour profiles and unique selling opportunities for private label items that can be scaled and outsourced (co-packed) .Lead, develop and grow the team.Implement the HAACP plan at the new Trapp commissary facility.Assist with the commissary design at the new Trapp facility.Work with local chefs and celebrities to create branded food items that can be sold through all sales channels.Overall, ensure financial objectives are met: food costing, product pricing and mark-ups. Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained between the kitchen and retail sites.Assume a leadership role in the kitchen to ensure product is created efficiently, with quality, and with consistency.Oversee end-to-end quality and food safety, and act as a liaison with the retail and online sales channels to ensure the highest quality products for our customers.Work with in-house Design team and external contractors on sourcing cost-effective, unique packaging solutions for all food items.Establish inventory and quality control policies; address ingredient controls and quality thereof.Provide recommended solutions to Executive Chef and Production Manager on ways to improve and reduce COGS.Additional duties as assigned.At least 10 years of kitchen management or restaurant operations management experience.Culinary Red Seal designation (or equivalent).Proven track record of strong communication and teamwork.Analytical abilities to assess inventory, product costs, sales projections, and labour control.Passionate about healthy living and how this fits into the Be Fresh brand.Strong business acumen, including finding efficiencies and driving revenues.Entrepreneurial mindset.An annual salary based on experience20% discount on all of our products on!Extended Health Care Benefits (effective the first of the month after 90 days)
