Job ID:16568Updated:October 10, 2018Location:Main CampusPosition OverviewTheDepartment of Recruitment & Admission  in theHaskayne School of Business  is currently seeking a Full-time Temporary Relief  Director, Marketing and Recruitment  for approximately 15 months.This position reports to the Executive Director, Student Success and Community Engagement. The Director, Marketing and Recruitment is responsible for all organizational, administrative, operational and financial matters related to marketing and recruitment for graduate programs. The position will involve a high volume of work with varying levels of complexity, all within a fast-paced environment of continuous change, and will be required to interact on a daily basis and on a professional level with staff, faculty, and other internal and external stakeholders. The Haskayne School of Business has approximately 3,800 full- and part-time students enrolled in bachelors, masters and doctorate programs. Specifically at the graduate level, the school offers a variety of programs to suit the diverse needs of students. These programs include, but are not limited toThe Haskayne MBA, which aims to transform Canada’s workforce by enabling our students to contribute as individuals and leaders within their organizations. The program is delivered in daytime, evening and accelerated formats with both fall and winter entry.The Alberta-Haskayne Executive MBA (EMBA), which aims to transform Canada’s future by educating the next generation of business and public sector leaders. The program is delivered in alternate weekend formats with both fall and winter entry.The Global Energy Executive MBA Program (GEeMBA), which aims to transform the global energy industry by preparing the next generation of leaders for its complex and evolving challenges. The program is delivered in a module format with fall entry.Position DescriptionSummary of Key Responsibilities(job functions include but are not limited to):Strategic PlanningDevelop an overarching strategic marketing and recruitment plan which defines the objectives for supporting integrative marketing and recruitment plans, tactics and budgets for graduate programs in collaboration with the Executive Director and other senior leadershipLead, implement and report on strategic plans in support of the School’s vision, goals and objectivesDefine strategy and approach for program recruitment, marketing and communicationsDevelop program launch plans to market and recruit for new programs as developedProgram RecruitmentIn collaboration with the Executive Director and other senior leadership, develop new and foster existing relationships with community partners to garner their support in sponsoring students and / or delivering elements of the programsRepresent the programs at external meetings and events, modeling and inspiring a high level of professionalism when dealing with stakeholdersIdentify and prosecute on internal and external opportunities to promote the programs leveraging appropriate channels and collateral in collaboration with communications and community engagement teamsIdentify and prosecute on other opportunities for the Haskayne School of Business, collaborating with external partners, the program areas, Executive Education, Career Centre and other externally facing unitsLead market intelligence initiatives and analyze and incorporate results into recruitment strategyProgram Marketing Lead the identification and implementation of best practices in program marketingOversee a broad range of program marketing and advertising campaigns, publications, social media and website initiatives to promote the Haskayne programs within the University of Calgary brand guidelinesCollaborate with communications and community engagement, program areas, student success and centres to ensure objectives, strategies, and campaigns are aligned and synergizedOversee a comprehensive website plan and strategy to redesign and keep current with best practices, within the university’s guidelinesLead market research initiatives and analyze and incorporate results into marketing programsManagement Develop and monitor annual marketing and recruitment budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director, Student Success and Community EngagementEstablish team structure and role descriptions for marketing and recruitment operations and recruit to fill positions as required, in collaboration with Human Resources teamProvide leadership and manage team members fostering a culture of accountability and trustProvide coaching / professional development to team members and fulfill performance management responsibilitiesQualifications / Requirements:Graduate degree in business administration or marketing preferred. Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered7-10 years progressive experience, knowledge and skills in strategic planning, strategic marketing and program recruitmentExtensive experience in marketing, advertising, brand management, creative design, account management, social media and website developmentDemonstrated excellence creating and executing effective marketing plans and programs, leveraging market research data and developing tactics aimed at various target audiencesExperience in student recruitment in both domestic and international markets preferably in a graduate business school. Knowledge of higher-education recruitment trends and awareness of the social, cultural and economic issues which affect graduate student enrolmentsExpertise in leading a team and strong ability to establish goals and operational benchmarks. A positive and collaborative leader style. Excellent track record of mentoring and coaching team members and ability to inspire and motivate othersAbility to think conceptually. Demonstrated creativity. Proven analytical and problem-solving ability for effective planning and decision making. High attention to detailStrong work ethic and results orientedProven ability to handle complex organizational, administrative, operational, and financial matters and issues, as well as identifying strategies for their resolutionExcellent project management skills.
