The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 190 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). We are a very diverse and dynamic Co-operative with retail commodities that include Food, Lumber Fuel and C-Stores, Hardware, Agro, Fertilizer, Bulk Petroleum, Feed, and Wine, Spirits and Beer.Lake Country Co-operative Association Ltd.invites applications for the position ofDirector, Marketing and Community Relationsto join our team at our Administrative Office located in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing and communications plans for the Lake Country Co-op. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert in all marketing related activities through various channels.Lake Country Co-op is looking for an individual who will demonstrate effective team leadership skills and the ability to work well within multi-generational teams. Applicants should be creative, self-reliant, goal orientated, and have the ability to set and adjust priorities and schedule.Reporting to the Executive Director, Growth and Development, responsibilities for this position include the following:1. Living the Brand – to assist in the development and maintenance of the brand strategy for the association and develop a training plan to create awareness of the brand.2. To be an active and contributing member of the senior leadership team.3. Participate in strategic planning, annual planning and goal setting and ensure marketing efforts support.4. Develop and implement the organizations Social Media Strategy5.Work closely with the senior leadership team to focus our giving in to specific community sponsorships and donations that most closely reflect our corporate values and strategies.6.To ensure personal development is planned for and the initiative is taken to continually improve knowledge, skills and attitudes.7.To be familiar with and adhere to Lake Country Co-op Policies and Procedures.8.Facilitate the development of a “culture of safety”.9.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications• University degree in marketing, advertising, journalism, sales, business administration or equivalent.• 2-5 years’ experience in marketing or marketing related field.• Excellent understanding and familiarity with brand building and brand management.• Proven track record in creating and executing successful e-mail marketing, internet marketing and direct marketing campaigns/ programs.• Direct experience with graphic design, web page and other marketing –related soft-ware tools including Adobe Photoshop, Print Shop, Adobe Illustrator etc.• Knowledge of ethical marketing best practices and associated regulations.• Demonstrated proficiency in internet marketing techniques, technologies, and solutions.• Hands on experience with search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, and other web-focused initiatives.• Ability to build and sustain relationships with key business partners.• Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking and time management skills to meet deadlines.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven team player who is both flexible and adaptable.• Retail experience in the areas of marketing, member relations, selling, printing, design is preferred.Lake Country Co-op provides competitive wages and offer attractive benefits including flexible schedules, dental, extended health, long term disability, group life insurance, employer matched pension programs, recognition programs, advancement opportunities, learning and development and a positive, supportive work environment.This position will remain open until suitable candidate is found.
