Accountable for strategy development and execution for a defined list of vendors. This position is primarily vendor facing and plans and directs sales activities including managing the region’s or location’s sales and marketing representatives to achieve revenue and yield goals. Coordinates customer quotations, assigns account responsibilities and establishes and maintains communications between sales and marketing and other staff. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with customers, manufacturers’ representatives and suppliers. Brings together and deploys the individuals, processes and resources to meet customer needs. Drives focus on individual customer profitability.Want to learn more about Tech Data and what we do?!Principal Responsibilities:Manages the department’s resources and personnel to obtain maximum benefit through recruiting, training, and organization.Develops, manages and evaluates compensation plans to promote the success of sales programs and maintain current P&L.Formulates and recommends plans, policies, goals and objectives for the organization’s sales activities to expand market share in existing markets and capture new business.Develops and executes both short- and long-range sales plans and programs in conjunction with Senior Management to ensure profitability.Job Level Specifications:Significant experience and in-depth working knowledge of the distribution industry.Strategic thinker who can translate industry knowledge/problems into a clearly defined company opportunity and plan to execute.Strong business acumen with the ability to develop a business.Excellent communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills.Willingness to make tough decisions and the ability to articulate the business rationale.Demonstrated leadership skills to drive business strategies level while achieving customer and Tech Data business growth.Self-starter, self-motivated, able to influencer others, and help solve problems and create win-win solutions.Experience:8 years of progressively responsible sales experience in the computer distribution3 years management experience.Education/Certification:Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of formal education and directly related experience.
