Position Description: High Level Overview – Play a leadership role in initiatives to enhance our runbook automation plant, including automation of deployments of the vendor product, improvements to monitoring and supportability, – Create, maintain and enhance APIs and tools used by internal customers to leverage the plant. – Work in a highly-automated, high-quality development environment. – Suited to individuals with 5+ years experience in Linux and/or development roles. Description We’re looking for a versatile Linux specialist and/or Python developer with 5+ years experience to join us to enhance our runbook automation plant as internal demand rapidly grows. With this rapid growth comes a unique opportunity to define and drive the next-generation state of the plant. We’re looking for committed individuals with a will to engage and learn from subject matter experts, and to find elegant solutions which align with objectives. The plant is based around the IPcenter runbook automation vendor product, with opportunities to develop new ways for customers to interact with the plant and integrations with other products used within the firm. The product is implemented in Java/MySQL so skills in those areas will be beneficial. Dependent on the successful individual, the role will comprise a varied mix of Linux automation and Python development. Good communication, both written and verbal, and a passion for problem-solving are a must. The technical skills we’re looking for are flexible, but dedication to rapidly develop your Linux and Python skillset is required, along with an understanding of the challenges of integrating differing platforms and architectures. Additional technical skills will all be helpful. The successful candidate will likely have a varied technical background, or at the very least demonstrate a strong interest in continual growth in depth and breadth. The ability to work well in a team (including cross-regional) and the ability to build relationships with other teams is a must. Experience leading technical initiatives/teams will contribute to your success in the role. The ability to understand customer requirements and take ownership of problems through to resolution is also important.
