We are currently looking for a Junior/Intermediate DevOps Engineer in Calgary to join the Development Services team. Reporting into the Development Services Manager, you will be supporting the engineering community in a variety of work. This work will range from server support, application support, networking support, system administration, security and software builds.Our Development Services group is a unique group within the Engineering section and requires a motivated individual who thrives in a fast paced environment and will be expected to perform duties in a variety of different capacities.Respond to outages and alerts quickly to ensure availability of our online services.Refine processes to develop a culture of quality and high availability.Automate processes to increase efficiency wherever possible.Help architect and implement solutions that solve complicated application challenges around performance, scaling, and security.Instrument monitoring solutions to gain insight into application performance and understand emerging issues.Maintain deployment software and tools.Work closely with developers to ensure on time delivery of services.Interest and general aptitude toward DevOps2+ years’ experience in a DevOps or DevOps related roleExperience working with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with Cloud Provisioning (AWS, Azure, OpenStack)Working knowledge of networking (DNS, TCP/IP, VLAN, ipTables, routing/switching)Continuous integration and delivery tools (Jenkins, Artifactory)Configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible)Experience with Linux and window OSScripting languages (i.e. Perl, Python, etc.)Education:Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering or equivalent discipline is required.Minimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security ClearanceApplicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace.Workplace accommodations are available.At General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada, Canada’s premiere defence company, innovation happens on a daily basis.
