General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada currently has a requirement for Cyber Security Engineer to join the Engineering Support Services team.This opportunity can be based out of Ottawa or Calgary. Reporting to the Manager of Cyber Security Solutions (CSS) the successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise in the pursuit of General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada business opportunities and in the execution of our programs including the Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) of products.Responsible for SA&A activities where required for company products on proposals and programs.Take part in discussions with the customer to ascertain their needs and reach a final agreement on the SA&A requirementsResponsible for review and understanding of customer inputs as they relate to Cyber SecurityDemonstrated effective interpersonal skills, to work cooperatively and effectively with a broad range of colleagues, clients, and stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize information, assess risks and opportunities, and make recommendations on potential courses of actionEnsure that Cyber Security documentation is produced where required for program and functional compliance e.g. SA&A Plan, Threat Risk Assessment, Security Concept of Operations, Security checklists, Policies, Orders, Reports and PlansExpected to work in a laboratory environment developing and executing test cases.Expected to be able to troubleshoot various systems both in a laboratory environment as well as well as in an operational environmentSupport internal and formal technical reviewsMonitor system design and provide design advice and analysisIdentify Cyber Security risk areas and recommend courses of actionProvide progress reports to CSS ManagerPerform other related duties as requiredSix or more years of related experienceMust have strong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishHigh degree of initiative and work habits that accomplish functional and business goals with autonomyExperience in one or more of these areas are an asset: Network Security principles and practice, Vulnerability Analysis, Threat Risk Assessment, Public Key Infrastructure concepts with hands-on implementation as well as Operating System Hardening.Knowledge and experience with current government and industry standards such as ITSG-33, NIST SP 800 and 1800 Series, ISO/IEC and other related standards is an asset.EducationMinimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical/science/mathematics degree with proof of continuous development of Cyber Security related professional knowledge and/or skills.Industry certification such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, GSEC or other related security certifications would be viewed as an assetMinimum 10 year consecutive residence in Canada – for Canadian Secret Security ClearanceApplicants will be required to obtain/hold a valid and current Canadian security clearance to gain access to the classified spaces, information and equipment in order to perform the work associated with this position.General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace.
