The Crane Operator/Painter will operate cranes to dip joists and trusses into paint tanks. The successful candidate may also manually paint joists and trusses to ensure complete coverage of the products.
Position on the afternoon shift.
Operate cranes to dip joists or trusses into paint tanks and load products onto trailers.
Secure joists and trusses on trailers.
Replenish paint levels in paint tanks.
Perform manual painting or touch-ups to ensure complete paint coverage on all products as required.
Comply with health and safety, environmental and Lean manufacturing policies and procedures.
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to operate overhead cranes.
Ability to read and interpret job requisitions.
Ability to communicate, read and write in English is a must.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and operating policies, procedures and instructions.
Ability to work safely and maintain production demands.
Willingness to engage in training as required.
Prepared to work 3:30 pm – 12 am with a willingness to work overtime, including weekends.
The employee will be required to climb ladders and secure products on trailers. The nature of this position also requires the employee to perform a wide range of physical activities, ranging from pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects (50-75lbs), to sitting, climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling with repetitive hand and finger movements. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
Personal Protective Equipment must always be worn (including but not limited to: safety boots, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, earplugs). Overhead crane movement and truck traffic.
