Committed to service excellence, transparency in decision-making and responsible tax management, the Region delivers a wide range of municipal services that are customer-focused and cost-effective.The Region of Peel has recently completed a Strategic Planning process that engaged our residents and stakeholders to answer one question: “What can you imagine for the future of Peel?” All the feedback received formed the path forward and the strategic direction for the Region over the next 20 years.To learn more about the Region of Peel please visit our websiteor watch the Faces of Peelvideo to see how our employees impact the residents of Peel.Scheduling Coordinator Duration: Contract, Full-Time, Eighteen(18) MonthsPublic Works –TransHelpReporting to the Supervisor, Operations Support you will coordinate the most cost efficient daily schedule for all trips and rides on TransHelp vehicles and taxis Responsibilities: • Scheduling all trips on bus and contracted vendors using most practical and efficient method• Monitoring trip requests and providing appropriate bus/contracted vendor split•Accommodating stand-by requests after the booking cut-off time where possible• Update and maintain schedule templates on a regular basis• Coordinate and schedule internal and external Charter requests and group bookings• Providing schedules daily to contracted vendors via fax/email• Receive and respond to Operator scheduling referrals and investigate, resolve and make recommendations• Complete and maintain monthly trip reports• Perform Trend Analysis and bench marking for trips• Make informed recommendations and provide updates• Communicate and coordinate with contracted external vendorsto meet daily trip demands• Coordinating group bookings from external agencies via email/faxQualifications:• Completed post-secondary education or equivalent of related work experience• Two years of scheduling experience• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Organized and able to prioritize work and make decisions in a fast paced work environment• Analytical thinker with critical thinking skills along with strong computer skills• Previous experience with Trapeze software would be an asset• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a teamLocation:One (1)Contract, full time position, rotating shifts at 2 Copper Road, Brampton ONand 3190 Mavis Road, Mississauga, ONHours of Work:Various shifts, Monday through Sunday,5:00am – 12:00am, 35 hours per weekIf this position matches your skillset and qualifications, please apply online.At the Region of Peel, we respect diversity and treat one another in ways that are fair, courteous and compassionate, recognizing everyone’s contributions.
