Based out of our Quebec Office, just outside of Montreal in Sainte-Julie, this position, under the direction of the engineering manager, entails effectuating equipment start-ups and responding to customers service needs, on lumber drying kilns, thermal oil equipment and wood fired energy systems. This position requires the ability to travel thru Eastern Canada and the New England States on average 1 week per calendar month. . Employment is permanent, full time, 37.5 hrs per week.
Academic: Completed Diploma in college studies in electrical engineering.
Work Experience: 1 to 2 years as an electrical technician with PLC and instrumentation experience in a construction or maintenance environment.
Other: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming is an asset.
Language: Fluent in English and French in both verbal and written is a requirement for this position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Goes to site to supervise and inspect the electrical installation of the equipment.
Performs on-site start-up and training for the installed equipment (between 4 and 14 days).
May perform other duties in order to ensure timeliness of start-up.
Builds PLC cabinets in the Ste-Julie shop when required.
Gets involved in PLC programming when required.
Can be called upon to do service calls and troubleshooting for clients on existing operational equipment.
Can be required to prepare and modify certain electrical prints.
Provides expenses and time sheets for each job. Provides report for each job and service call.
Provides support to Sales staff by informing them of the customer’s needs for solutions (sales), parts or resolving issues.
Performs related duties as assigned by the Engineering manager.
