These clinical research positions are within the Department of Supportive Care at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Together with colleagues, you will be responsible for assisting with or coordinating one or more team projects, that will include: longitudinal quantitative and qualitative studies assessing physical and psychological distress (including depression, hopelessness, physical symptom burden, the desire for death, and requests for medical assistance in dying) in patients with advanced cancer; and/or a randomized controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of an individualized psychosocial and palliative care intervention designed to help patients manage the challenges of acute leukemia. Subject recruitment for these and other team projects take place in some of the busiest outpatient clinics and inpatient units at The Princess Margaret.

Position level, title and salary for these positions will be commensurate with the candidates’ experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy. • Bachelor’s degree (minimum); research-related Master’s degree in a health sciences field strongly preferred
• Related research experience required for CRA position: minimum of one (1) to three (3) years required;
• Research experience for CRC position: minimum of three (3) years of professional experience required:
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Strong project coordination skills
• Experience with participant recruitment, consent and questionnaire administration; qualitative interview
experience would be an asset
• Experience with data management software, database set-up, data entry, data management
• Statistical skills and previous experience using statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS or SPSS)
• Highly motivated, with an ability to work well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Previous experience working in cancer-related research and/or with medically ill patients would be an asset
• Previous experience with ethics applications and amendments and grant submissions would be an asset
As a Research Analyst OR Clinical Research Coordinator (level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience), you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team and be responsible for and/or assist with the following tasks: study coordination; recruitment and tracking of study participants (e.g., screen potential subjects, obtain informed consent, administer questionnaires and other data collection tools using established criteria, conduct qualitative interviews); data entry, coding, scoring and statistical analysis of data (under the supervision of the PIs and a statistical consultant); study-related administrative tasks (e.g., create standard operating procedures; manage study documents; organize questionnaire packages; coordinate subject appointments); database design, set-up and maintenance; and medical chart reviews. In addition, you will attend regular research team meetings; prepare study updates and reports; participate in group planning of new research initiatives including grant and ethics applications; assist with presentation and publication of study findings; and complete other tasks as assigned or requested by the study team.
