ObjectivesTo build a strong professional finance function that provides proactive guidance and essential financial insight to the North American (NA) entity, the CEO and senior management teamEnable effective decision making by delivery of timely reporting and valuable financial information to both the local management team and the Group BoardImplement best practice in reporting, controls, systems, compliance and corporate governanceLiaising with Group CFO, CEO and members of the Executive Board to ensure strategic and operational plans are deliveredResponsibilitiesLead and take overall responsibility for all aspects of the finance department including overseeing production of monthly management accounts (including quarterly forecasting and monthly cash flow forecasting), KPI’s, business analysis, annual budgeting cycleLead and implement introduction of new systems and processes such as new financial systems, timesheets, costing tools and streamline existing processes where necessaryDevelop and implement a dashboard of KPI’s that provide early signals on performanceAppraising and building the financial control framework for the businessProvide commercial support to the BD, research and operational teams including pricing, contract reviewsCoordinate and prepare all statutory and tax reporting including liaison with external auditors and tax advisorsEffective cash management including daily, weekly and monthly reporting and forecastingCreate business and strategic plans aligned with the corporate objectivesReview supplier terms across NAAttend all operational board meetingsBe an active member of the Board/SMTPrepare investment appraisals of new business opportunities and provide support and expertise to the executive and operational teams in assessing new opportunitiesCarry out due diligence assessments of business targets and prepare business Plans and financial models for those targets as appropriateTogether with the group finance team, improve and introduce best practice across the Group to ensure consistency across all entities and compliance with GAAPLead group wide financeinitiatives (i.e. impact of IFRS 15)Train and develop people within the finance teamDocument and formalise all policies and proceduresCompliance reporting specifically financial, tax and ABCStakeholder managementPrepare and position the business data and information for an eventual sale or exit in 3-5 yearsAdhoc support to Group CFO as requiredLead a finance team that delivers excellent pro-active service to its stakeholdersPerformance review and career planning of the finance teamReportingNA finance team reports directly to the roleReports to Group CFOBehavioural CompetenciesResults focussed: focussing efforts on achieving high – quality results consistent with the organization’s standardLeading change: recognising the need for change, being open and receptive to new ideas and methods, always striving for best practice and championing transformational change within the organisation and beyond to achieve optimum outputsInitiative: dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently seizing opportunities as they ariseCollaborative: working with others to achieve the organisation and strategic goalsCustomer service: delivering a first class service to internal and external stakeholdersFostering communication: listening and communicating openly, honestly and respectfully with different stakeholders, promoting dialogue and building consensus as necessaryPeople leadership – assuming a leadership role and demonstrating to others how to achieve and aspire to excellent outputsExemplifying integrity: treating others fairly, honestly and respectfully, furthering the integrity of the organisation and its relationships of trust with team members and the wider stakeholder groupInspiring others: energizing and inspiring others to strive for excellence and commit to common goals and purposes, creating a sense of self-efficacy, resilience and persistence in followersQualifications and experienceCPA designation requiredDemonstrated track record of proven financial acumen and leadership that demonstrates ability to work with senior leadership to gain insight on how to improve both operational and financial performanceSystems implementation experience particularly financial ERP systems including CRM, HRProven project management and organisational skills to execute time-sensitive deliverables and effectively manage several projects simultaneouslyBig four experience an assetIndustry experience essentialInternational reporting and knowledge of IFRS beneficial10+ years of accounting, reporting and managerial/leadership experienceStrong interpersonal skills – listening and communicating
