This individual will be responsible for leading Canadian specific initiatives and strategies in line with overall regional and global procurement category management strategies, opportunity assessments, and sourcing / negotiation activities. Additionally, this individual will enable localized vendor performance management for key vendor relationships and other procurement programs in Canada. This role reports directly into the Director of Operations and Project Sourcing within the Global Procurement Organization and indirectly to the (CFO of the Iron Mountain Canadian business unit).Key Responsibilities: The Category Manager, Canada will evaluate Canadian spending and vendors and work in collaboration with the Global Category Management team to identify and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, as well as other sourcing and category management activities within Canada.Act as a supply chain advisor to Canadian leadership to help liason with Global Procurement to develop sourcing plans and regional category strategies.Working with key business partners and category leaders to identify and prioritize local sourcing initiatives and/or contract negotiations that enable business priorities, reduce Iron Mountain’s total cost (TCO), and mitigate supply chain risk.Lead Canadian specific Category Management activities through a structured sourcing process in coordination with global and regional Procurement counterparts. Manage stakeholder engagement (internal and external) throughout the initiative, effectively delegating activities and tasks to drive process to completion. Provide periodic updates, report on progress and expected results to business area leadership.Coordinate contracting process for Canadian agreements through legal, risk, IT, Finance and other impacted business functions as determined to represent the business needs of each function in order for decisions to be made by Canadian leadership.Analyze and continuously monitor market and industry data to insure programs remain competitive throughout the agreement period. Seek alternate and innovative solutions to provide solutions to business challenges and create competitive advantage. Leverage process teams, applications and tools to identify best approach for handling operational transactions to lower administrative costs, add accountability, controls and drive efficiency.Influence revenue accrual by understanding and executing strategies that focus on speed to completion in those areas that will influence how quickly revenue can be collected, especially in growing fast-paced business units. Understand how to influence suppliers that are customers to pay their bills on time as a supply chain financial stability evaluation.Act as the advocate and provide support as required for the Canadian supply chain programs such as telecommunications and credit card administration.Position requires specific knowledge and experience in sourcing, negotiating, contracting, analysis, project management and leading an area in implementing new supplier agreements/programs.Position requires the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.The successful candidate must work well within a team environment and be able to positively influence outcomes with business areas that may be required to deal with change.In this role, the candidate will communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a positive and selling manner.Facilitate and lead Category Management function spanning across a wide variety of spend categories involving representatives from various business areas to drive strategy. Facilitate and lead discussions on implementation strategies to expand Procurement application use, leverage spend management capabilities and deliver other Procurement business solutions. Role requires the ability to initiate action and decision making with key stakeholders across the business. This role requires candidate to influence business partners in a positive manner and the ability to exhibit confidence.Role requires a strong understanding of the Source-to-Settle process and the use of technology to enable processing efficiencies and to provide better visibility and control over external spending. Individual should have ability to trouble-shoot issues and resolve / recommend solutions.Candidate in this position will be able to independently form conclusions, evaluate alternatives and make recommendations based on facts and a sound business case.This position requires excellent customer service abilities and the candidate should display a record of excellence in communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.The qualified individual should also demonstrate strong organizational, negotiating and influencing skills.Owns Canadian supply base for all categories of spend and is responsible for supplier recommendations, improving performance and delivering results to our Canadian internal customers. Position provides value to the organization by improving procurement service delivery, identifying new opportunities and lowering total cost of ownership in the purchase of goods and services.
