Job Description
Position Summary
The Business Solution Owner (BSO), Finance will translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, define current and future operational scenarios (processes, models, use cases, plans and solutions) and assist with the process team/operational business in their selection, design and implementation. Interacting with internal resources, global business teams and vendors on multiple projects with global scope, the incumbent will develop solutions to ensure that business requirements are met and assist the technical design of these solutions for long-term stability. In addition, they will recommend improvements to ongoing processes/reporting and provide innovative ideas to leverage reusable solutions and assets. Individual independently drive issue resolution and develop business knowledge and relationships while operating in a rapidly changing business environment.
Key Accountabilities
As a member of the Global Business Solutions Team, your responsibilities include:
Being the “guardian” of the global SAP design on process and solutions
Providing the technical input to specific 3 year rolling business process and SAP product plan to support continuous improvement plans.
Capturing and documenting comprehensive business requirements.
Creating functional specifications working close with GPO’s for input and clarity (“translates” technical language into business language and vice versa).
Executing deployment of new solutions within the specific process area in SAP FI and CO modules including Profitability Analysis (COPA), Asset Account and Project Systems and focus on the CO module
Creating / writing test scripts.
Executing unit and string testing. Works with users to ensure testing of the system and processes is of quality, completed on time and signed off.
Completion of Service Request forms while resolving escalated Service Incidents.
Supporting steady state issue resolution with current design.
Supporting regression testing.
Executing the quality assurance program on time to ensure business system and process requirements are met. Identifying opportunities or problems of significance and seeing out effective ways to share this information with the right people.
Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance
Minimum of 1-3 years of demonstrated successful work experience, ideally working with FI and CO modules in SAP. Food industry experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge and expertise in SAP systems and FI functionality to support the business processes
Experience in project teams preferably in a global environment.
Proven ability to work collaboratively across levels and functions internally and with third parties.
Experience of working in a fast paced, changing environment with ambiguous conditions, dealing with both internal and external customers, including cross functional teams.
Effective project management skills.
Demonstrated communication to all levels of organization.
IT competence in financial solutions (SAP)
Computer Skills – Excel, Word and PowerPoint. A thorough understanding and hands on experience using McCain’s SAP systems.
A solid foundation of knowledge regarding how McCain systems that are utilized by the Operations finance organization and how this both affects and are affected by other areas of the business, i.e. logistics, supply chain, general finance and accounting etc.
Role is ideal for a detail-oriented problem solver with excellent prioritization and collaboration skills.

This position is based at the McCain Foods Global Technology Centre in Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick. Relocation assistance may be available on a case-by-case basis.
