We recognize these as core responsibilities to our clients and shareholders as we adapt and lead in an ever-changing world.The RoleWe are currently looking for a Business Architect to join our Business Architecture & Design department as part of either Mackenzie Investments (Toronto) or Investors Group (Winnipeg). The team delivers support focused on the development and implementation of strategic objectives and business operational support across Mackenzie Investments and Investors Group. The Business Architect works closely with Business Consultants, Business Analysts and business subject matter experts to fulfill its mandate. The Business Architect also works closely with counterparts in IS to ensure that technical solutions are aligned with business needs. As a Business Architect you are responsible for understanding strategic imperatives as they leverage business architecture (strategic blue prints, business models, business cases) to create their business plans. The Business Architect will assist in providing input into the execution plans that support the achievement of key goals. The Business Architect reports into business management and is responsible for:Applying a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing and documenting the key views of the enterprise.Capturing the tactical and strategic enterprise goals and map to defined, measurable objectives that provide ongoing guidance and accountability.Describing the key business functions and processes of the enterprise and distinguish between customer-facing, supplier-related, business execution and business management functions. Describe which people, resources and controls are involved in the processes.Participating in the identification and definition of the information shared across the enterprise, the relationships between that information and the providers and users of the information.Capturing the relationships among roles, capabilities and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the internal or external management of those units. Identify and describe external entities such as customers, suppliers, and external systems and understand how these entities fit within the business model.Assisting the Director, Business Architecture, in synthesizing information about strategy, process, information and roles to help design and develop business architecture models, business capability blueprints and roadmaps to drive desired business outcomes.The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experienceArchitecture certification CBA, BAIP, TOGAFMinimum 7 years demonstrated working experience within financial services industry, or consulting firms; in depth knowledge of stated industry, of technology and of process, such as cross-functional business processes for major operational areas, project management, vendor management and project life cycleStrong process analysis and modeling skills along with ability to lead complex enterprise teams through business process integrations, converting business strategy into action oriented objectives and measureable resultsExceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communication as well as visualizationsAbility to act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and data constraints to the business; applies equal conveyance regarding business strategy and IT strategy, business processes and work flow automation, business initiatives, IT initiatives, and benefit realization and service deliveryTeam player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others and move toward consensusInternal Applicants:If you are interested in applying for this position please direct applications on-line using the “apply for this job” icon located at the bottom or to the left of the posting.
