The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 200 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. The Haida Gwaii Consumers Co-operative Association invites applications for the position of Bakery Operator at the new food store in Skidegate, BC.West coast living on the “Edge of the World” – Where the western world ends, Haida Gwaii begins. Located 93 nautical miles off the B.C coast, the islands of Haida Gwaii are renowned for their unique Haida culture, offer small community living, and are globally recognized for their supernatural beauty and some of Canada’s best adventures.Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Bakery Operator will be responsible for day to day operations of the new Bakery department.Responsibilities will include:Providing exceptional Guest ServiceDirecting team member tasks and responsibilitiesDriving sales, margins, and appropriate inventory levelsEnsuring merchandising, production, and health & safety standards are maintainedTimely completion of department financial administrationWe are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:Baker certification or commercial baking experienceFood safety experienceProven success directing peopleOrganizational skillsQuality communication and interpersonal skillsExperience growing sales in a dynamic environmentA drive to deliver exceptional customer service through living our brandPreference will be given to those candidates with previous or current experience in the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS).Haida Gwaii Co-op offers competitive wages and a full Benefits Plan that includes extended health care, dental, life insurance & long term disability insurance, and an Employee Family Assistance Program.
