Assistant Chief Steward The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is looking for an outgoing, friendly, motivated and keen person to fill the position of Assistant Chief Steward. This person will provide all the necessary support to the Chief Steward and the entire Stewarding Department. This position will introduce you to the inner workings of the hotels management team as well as teach you all the indispensable tools needed to better not only yourself, but also the Stewarding Department and the entire Food & Beverage Division. Join our Fairmont family today Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief Steward, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Lead, teach, coach and inspire a team of up to 60 staff, including8 supervisors Conduct semi-annual and periodic inventories to ensure par stocks and resource availability are maintained within all Food and Beverage outlets and kitchens and determine breakage Conduct daily inspections of all Food and Beverage areas and kitchens on a daily basis to ensure cleanliness and compliance with local health/sanitation codes Assist in the correct ordering and usage of all chemicals within the department and outlets, including appropriate training in accordance with provincial WHMIS legislation Attend any required meetings including Department Head meetings, weekly Food and Beverage division meetings and stewarding meetings Assist the Chief Steward with the recruitment, orientation, training and scheduling of all colleagues and supervisors Assist the Chief Steward to exceed budgetary guidelines for operating supplies and labor Provide support and direction to the team of leaders within Stewarding with respect to performance management and continuous learning Foster an environment of cooperation within the department and between other departments within the hotel Encourage participation and input from all colleagues while promoting professional work habits that will ensure that the department is being guided at all time by Fairmont’s Mission, Vision and Values Have a proactive eye for detail and cleanliness Review banquet event orders to forecast equipment and supply requirements Actively participate in all of the hotel’s committees Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean, safe working environment with active participation in the hotel’s health and safety program Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required Other reasonable duties as assigned Assistant Chief Steward The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is looking for an outgoing, friendly, motivated and keen person to fill the position of Assistant Chief Steward.
