This is the expert level position in the maintenance department. This is the intermediate level position in the maintenance department.Including but not limited to:Learn the following advanced concepts of maintenance:Understand the operation of each component of Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Saws, Presses, Bridge and Jib cranes, and be able to measure and size replacement parts for each properlyGood working knowledge of the plants Fire Safety equip and requirementsSuccessful completion of minimum of 3 external maintenance related training seminars or coursesDevelop the following advanced proficiencies of maintenance:Demonstrate ability to perform any required mechanical repairs to all plant equip. Verification of axis alignments, hydraulic operations interpret mechanical cross sectional drawings, proper installation of precision bearingsDemonstrate ability to perform safe equipment rigging for lifting or hoisting using chain hoists or overhead cranesBe able to identify motor full load amperages and determine proper fuse and thermal overload protectionDemonstrate ability to trouble shoot common motor control center problemsDemonstrate ability to perform diagnostic tests on motors with meggers and ohmmeters, precision measuring with calipers, micrometers, and dial indicatorsBe able to read wiring diagrams and PLC ladder logic, and be able to demonstrate trouble shooting of common problemsHealth & Safety : Key Responsibilities & Requirements:Able to work in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves and othersAble to demonstrate compliance to company safety procedures and legal obligations Recognise and report and resolve hazards identifiedConfidence and ability to intervene on practices deemed to be unsafeEngage and promote a zero harm culture Be aware of physical limitations based upon job requirementsEducation and/or Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Third year HD Technician or Millwright Provincial Trade Certification.Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
