This position is ideal for individuals who have a strong aptitude for technical problem resolution, commercial activities and customer service. This role includes interactions with customers to interpret specifications, select products, and provide technical support.Including but not limited to:Providing technical support to customers and to account managersInterpreting specifications and selecting equipment to meet customer requirements, prepare quotes.Reliability: Assure that the equipment operating is supported in wear parts inventory, service availability and troubleshootingOptimisation: conduct trial and upgrades to assure optimal equipment operation and lowest cost of ownership. Conduct site audits.Project management: assure quote to commissioning execution, on-site supervision for installation and commissioning.Ongoing communication with customers and suppliersProviding technical support and expertise for outside sales force, consultants and customersOther responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.The selected individual will be expected to:Develop an understanding of the key hard rock mining customers and EPCs, of the applications and of the products/materials used.Provide support on brownfield inquiries/opportunitiesSupport aftermarket sales through field/site visits to understand how our equipment operates and wears, and to work with the technology centre to develop product/material improvements in line with customer expectations.Learn and share inter-company best practices.This role involves travelling 30-50% of the time.Health & Safety : Key Responsibilities & Requirements:Able to work in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves and othersAble to demonstrate compliance to company safety procedures and legal obligations Recognise and report and resolve hazards identifiedConfidence and ability to intervene on practices deemed to be unsafeEngage and promote a zero harm culture Be aware of physical limitations based upon job requirementsEducation/Experience:Bachelor of Engineering Degree, with 3 to 5 years of engineering experience. Prior experience with roles involving applications, customer-support, sales, or manufacturing environments is considered an asset. Mining or mineral processing education or experience will also be considered an asset.Language:English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to use basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills:Demonstrated proficiency in the full Microsoft Office Suite, Lotus Notes/Outlook. Prior experience using ERP/MRP systems, AutoCAD and/or other Design or engineering software will be considered an asset. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, Special Skills:Member or eligible to become a member of a Professional Engineering Association, having attained or working towards P Eng designation.Physical Requirements:Employee must be able to sit, stand, and lift up to 15 pounds.
