We currently have an opportunity for a Temporary Full Time Instructional Designer/I.S. Corporate Training in the Information Services Department.
Summary of Duties:
This role designs and develops training material, learning content and special initiatives.
Works directly with IS Corporate Training Services
Responsible for the sourcing of training material to meet objectives of the targeted audiences/initiative including job aids and reference materials.
Develop instructional material for online/elearning initiatives to support corporate systems and applications. Update and test existing training materials and assess/survey usage.
Gather and translate client requirements
Use various tools, media design software and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Consult and collaborate effectively with clients and subject matter experts
Collaborate with peers and management towards the continuous improvement of training material.
Contribute in the design of media, user interface, and user experience
Monitor project scope and time management
Prepare status reports, management updates, performance audits and analysis.
Other material design duties as assigned
Related Post-secondary education required
Demonstrated experience designing and creating learning based materials and job aids required
Excellent time management skills
Work well independently
Experience with multi-media software required
Demonstrated proficiency with MS word, Excel, Flash, Powerpoint
Proven experience with multimedia technology and authoring tools required
Experience with health care/clinical applications/systems such as OPIS, Patient care system (PCS), Electronic patient record (EPR/Sunnycare) strongly preferred
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Experience with content design and development of material
Demonstrates strong computer skills, word processing, spreadsheets and databases
Excellent communication and written skills (reports, briefing notes, presentations)
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
